Coca Cola Bottle Caps by IanSkills Coca Cola Bottle Caps by IanSkills
Funny story about these bottle caps. I went to this grocery store in my town, and they had coke in glass bottles! I love glass, especially glass soda bottles, cause they're old school. Anyway, I buy three bottles and leave. It turns out, the Coke is mexican. That's right. Mexican. The writing on the label was all in spanish, and it said "Hecho en México" which means "Made in Mexico" :o Weird, huh.

On to the fun stuff. For this photo, I stacked the caps onto a plain white piece of paper, so there would be no distracting backgrounds. Plus, it brings our the white in the letters, and makes the red of the cap really pop. I used my desk lamp for the dramatic shadows and highlights, however I turned my flash off and as such it was a little dark, so I artificially increased the exposure level. I don't like to do that, usually, but it looks 100 times better now. I also manually focused, because the auto focus on my camera doesn't like macro shots xD

So, were these made with real sugar?
The soda, not the caps.

Wait, the ingredients are listed on the bottle cap o_O It;s kinda hard to read because of the folds in the metal.

The ingredients are: Aqua carbonatada, azucares, y concentrados Coca Cola.

Which means carbonated water, sugar, and coca cola concentrates, which I guess means the kola nut extracts. So yes, real sugar, it would seem.

The nutrition information wasn't listed o: The copyright stuff was in spanish, and it said "refresco" on the front. And it listed the volume of soda in millilitres, whoch I thought was kinda cool.

I think I'll enter this contest too.
Really nice picture. The macro really looks good, since it shows the little dents on the bottle caps.

Thank you very much! That's actually precisely why I picked the bottle caps. They aren't super interesting until you get really close up, then all of a sudden, wham. It's so intricate and fascinating.

You should enter the contest, yeah! Good luck to you c:
